When I was a teenager my parents lived in the U.P. of Michigan and so began my pure enjoyment of four great seasons a year, plenty of outdoor sports, and huge mosquitoes! I absolutely love living in the northwoods of Hayward, WI because I get to ski in the winter, run, bike, and camp in the non-winter months, and drink coffee all year-round!
In 1999, I met Loretta Sunderland who rapidly introduced me to the youth, the community of Hayward, and the people of Hayward Wesleyan Church. I moved to Hayward full-time in the summer of 2003 as a pastor with children and middle school students. I am currently the Youth Pastor. I enjoy teaching about the God revealed in the Scriptures and sharing experiences and resources related to ministry, parenting, technology, and theology.
I am married to the amazing Amanda Mavis and have two terrific daughters, Sari and Macie.
I received a Masters of Arts in Child, Youth and Family Ministry from Wesleyan Seminary. I graduated from Multnomah University in Portland, OR with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Bible & Theology and Youth Ministry. Prior to Multnomah, I attended the Wisconsin Wilderness Campus of Philadelphia Biblical University in Cable, WI as well as one year at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK after graduating from Mustang High School in Mustang, OK.
I am an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church.
