Benevolence

Serving through physical and financial assistance

Hayward Wesleyan Church contributes to an ecumenical fund, sponsored by GHAMA (Greater Hayward Area Ministerial Association), that has been established to assist those in our community struggling to meet basic needs. This fund is managed by Salvation Army, and operated through donations from local congregations.  100% of the this money is used locally, and Hayward Wesleyan Church is a significant donor. A percentage of our benevolence donations goes to this fund, and we often send folks there to receive assistance. By giving to this fund, we are able to help community members in need.  Local congregations will provide “on call” volunteer chaplains for spiritual needs as they arise.

A Benevolence Team is in place to review and respond to requests for financial assistance from both within the church and from outside the church.

Any physical or financial requests for assistance can be directed to the church office
