What is a MomCo group?
MomCo groups are gatherings of moms coming together for community, conversation and friendship. The goal of MomCo is to meet each mom where she is and walk beside her as she embarks upon the crazy and beautiful journey we call motherhood.
MomCo International encourages and equips moms of pre-school and school aged children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders in relationship with Jesus. MomCo believes in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. MomCo was recently rebranded, and is previously named MOPS, an acronym that stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers” because they began in 1973 when a group of moms with young children banded together to share their lives and parenting journeys. MomCo partners with churches and organizations worldwide to equip and encourage moms in more than 90 countries. MomCo groups have these core components:
- Belief that moms are leaders
- Discovery-based meetups with an opportunity to encounter Jesus
- Membership that enhances the group experience
- Research working with moms which spans over 45 years
- Transformational content plan that helps moms in their mothering, faith and leadership
Who can join?
First and foremost, you’ll be warmly welcomed no matter if your child is screaming, you’re wearing sweat pants, and feel like a hot mess! We understand! A MomCo meetup includes gathering around a table with other moms to talk, learn, craft, and forge friendships! But more important, you’ll get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood.
Here at The Northwoods MomCo, we gather and support moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together.
