What is a MomCo group?

MomCo groups are gatherings of moms coming together for community, conversation and friendship. The goal of MomCo is to meet each mom where she is and walk beside her as she embarks upon the crazy and beautiful journey we call motherhood. 

MOmCo International encourages and equips moms of pre-school and school aged children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders in relationship with Jesus. MomCo believes in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. MomCo was recently rebranded, and is previously named MOPS, an acronym that stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers” because they began in 1973 when a group of moms with young children banded together to share their lives and parenting journeys. MomCo partners with churches and organizations worldwide to equip and encourage moms in more than 90 countries. MomCo groups have these core components:

• Belief that moms are leaders
• Discovery-based meetings with an opportunity to encounter Jesus
• Membership offering that enhances the group experience
• Research working with moms which spans over 45 years
• Transformational content plan that helps moms in their mothering, faith and leadership

What to expect at your MomCo meetings

First and foremost, you’ll be warmly welcomed no matter if your child is screaming, you’re wearing sweat pants, and feel like a hot mess! We understand! A MomCo meeting includes gathering around a table with other moms to talk, learn, craft, and forge friendships. Plus, there’s usually food… food you didn’t make! But more important, you’ll get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood.

Who can join?

Here at The Northwoods MomCo, we gather and support moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. We have two groups available.

The Northwoods Morning MomCo group meets the first and third Thursday of the month, 9AM-11AM. Childcare is available for this time for children ages birth to five. Childcare for older children may be available on a case by case basis.

The Northwoods Evening MomCo group meets the second Friday of every month at 6:30PM. The location of this group changes, but is usually around a Northwoods Evening MomCo Member’s kitchen table, where moms enjoy snacks and treats potluck-style, connect and support each other through the motherhood journey.

For the kids

There is childcare provided at both Northwoods Morning MomCo and Northwoods Evening MomCo! During the Northwoods Morning MomCo, on the first and third Thursday of the month, enjoy 2 hours kiddo free to join in fellowship with other moms. Childcare is provided in the church’s nursery by well equipped and trusted volunteers. (Background checks are performed on all of the childcare volunteers) Northwoods Morning MomCo Kids is a preschool-style experience your kiddos will love – complete with stories, songs and fun activities.

During the Northwoods Evening MomCo on the second Friday of each month, childcare is available for all ages. A snack will be provided. Enjoy fellowship with other moms while your kids play and socialize.
